Being an active kid…wasn’t enough
Being an active kid, I had a passion for extreme sports for many years. But I wanted to try something different. Something more like physical exercise. I tried martial arts but it was too brutal for me. Then I thought that kung fu would be more aligned with my mindset. I managed to stay there for three years but I started to feel empty again. So, I decide to leave.
Growth comes with involvement
A few months later, an old friend suggested that I try practicing yoga. Until that point, I had never considered that kind of practice, as I had this stupid theory, that yoga was mostly for women. At the time, it sounded like a good idea. I also found it very interesting.
My yoga studies began in a small place in my neighbourhood. Alongside Athanasiou Kostas, as we used to call him, I was introduced to my inner self.
Yoga is more than asana practice, it’s about perception
Learning his unique, in a sense, system, as he was combining traditional Hatha postures, with restorative movements and transforming them into strength exercises, I was surprised. The next 4 years found me by his side, giving all my self to his teachings. That was the time I realised what I could do on my own. I started experimenting with my body, practicing some of the well known yoga postures that we all do in yoga studios these days.
Inspiration has no ending, neither does spiritual growth
After that, I had the honor to be chosen by Daniel Rama and Shaktibird for their first Becoming Balance TTC. That was the time when traditional Hatha practice came in and mixed with functional movement and Vinyasa flow into my teachings. Two years after and until the present moment i started my handstand journey by the guidance of Janchivdorj Sainbayar, Yuval Ayalon and Andrey Moraru. During the first years of my yoga studies I had the privilege to bring KrishnaTaki into my life. He was my spiritual father and mentor in Thai massage. It was at that time, in Sunshine House, when I saw how one body reacts after giving love and compassion.
Touch one body with grace and love, and it will always accept you in
What followed, was some re-education in Osteo Thai, internal movement of the organ system and Craniosacral therapy. Giving treatments to people that had experienced Thai massage from genuine Thai or Indian people was a challenge when I started. But the feedback was something that I could never even imagine. The family of Sunshine House had given me some powerful knowledge, touch with awareness and intention. This is what I still try to give and share into my treatments.
