One wrong step

A few days ago I had a small accident that almost resulted in a serious injury. Instead, I was lucky and got only 7 inward and 18 outward stitches. Nothing more, nothing less...during my daily meditation I went back to that moment when I slipped and I found myself coming to the word “awareness”.

For years now, but mostly after my Thai Massage courses, I’ve tried to be one with that word! Being a hyperactive and stubborn guy didn’t help me with that. But I can certainly say that yoga and my treatments helped me find my way towards being aware. During the moment of the accident I found myself simply not being aware of my actions... where I was standing, what I was thinking, what my next move was going to be, and all of these while I was standing at the top of a fence, with iron rails between my feet, using one hand for balance while holding gardening tools with the other.

One wrong step, one stupid rushing movement, and almost get me seriously damaging my head and one god knows what would be the consequences after! I want to close this note with my most recent life lesson, that whatever we have to do, regardless of what our mental state is, we have to always be present! Always be aware of everything and anything happens in and out of our body. From the way the air comes into our lungs to each step and move that we make.
